The first requirement before you start an import/ export business in India is to obtain an IEC. An IEC is necessary for import/export of goods. In case the import/export is of services or technology, IEC is required in only limited circumstances, when import/export is in ‘specified services’ or ‘specified technologies’, i.e. services or technologies in which international trade is restricted by the Government of India as they pertain to national security, such as dealing in nuclear weapons, automatic guns, etc.
Procedure for import export code Registration:
1) You are required to fill the details in simple online questionnaire and submit documents.
2) They create the documents and file them with the DGFT office on your behalf.
3) Once your IEC registration is completed They will send IEC number to you by courier
4) In future, if you need any other further assistance, you can contact the company any time.
Documents in respect of Individual/ Proprietor/ Partner/ Director:
A) Copy of PAN Card
B) Passport size photograph
C) Copy of Aadhaar Card/ Voter identity card
D) Authorization letter (In case of Partnership)
E) Authority from other Directors on letterhead (In case of a company)
F) Copy of Partnership deed (In case of Partnership)
G) Board Resolution/ self-declaration (In case of Company)
H) Telephone Bill in the name of the Individual (In case of an individual)
I) The canceled cheque of an individual
